Transgo makes kits for the 4L60 and have had really positive reviews. They also claim their shift kit can extend the life of your transmission by reducing the transition time for the shift or something like that. They are relatively cheap too, I think they are under $150 iirc.

well sweet, my trans is a little funky though it was rebuilt at some point in time and the gears were changed or something... i think whoever did it wanted drive to be like "sport mode" but failed at it

i think i might just replace it with a 4L60E if its not too hard

um yes it is a major change. you would need to change computer, wiring harness under hood and under dash along with a few sensors and add a few. a 94 setup would be easiest but a 96 the best but really hard and more bucks. to much hassle and bucks for me and i didnt find this out until after i got the tranny i have now or i might have done it. tuning has been a pita with the obd1. heres a couple tranny places to read on. and 4l60 and 700r4 are the same.

If your trans isn't in proper working order, a shift kit can do more harm than good.
