you test the pressure on each side of the converter. should be close to the same. can use vacumm or low pressure gage. How can I tell if my catalytic converter is... — Yahoo! Autos

I don't think it is the Cats because the forward banks are setting also. Mostl likely a vacuum leak or low fuel pressure. You should clean the MAF sensor also.

I find it hard to believe all 4 sensors failed on the same hit of the throttle.

thanks guys! it sounds like it will be easier to clean the MAF sensor, so i'll try that first.

A lot of the online info and youtube how to's say use carb cleaner on the MAF. I am not a fan of that. I use electrical connetor cleaner. Carb cleaner is designed to clean and lubricate carb linkage. Electrical cleaner is designed just to clean. I am not saying Carb cleaner wont help but for me the 4 bucks is worth it.

To clean the MAF sensor, I use of all things.......................MAF cleaner spray. What a concept eh?

i used the MAF cleaner from autozone for $8.00 last night. I'll drive it a few days and see what happens.

shop says its a bad fuel pump. they want $1100 to replace it.

yep its a tough job if you do it the factory recommended way. if you do the hatch method its not so bad. look at number 9 here https://camaroforums.com/forum/93-02...62/#post557634 gotta cut a hole in the car though so you may need to find a buddy thats mechanically inclined to help out.
