3 gear on my trans went out yesterday!! [:@] Trans only has 45k since my rebuild!! Been dealing with issues for about 2 weeks now and what ever the problem was finally showed it ugly face yesterday. No $$for a good quality rebuild so I'm going to have to go with a local shop that offers rebuilds for $350 with a 6 month warrenty!! No choice!![:@] Toyo spun a bearing so that is down also!!![:'(]

 

that sucks man...was it a stock rebuild or was it built stronger?

 

I told the shop that did my rebuild that I was going to drop a new engine with more HP so I wanted them to build up the tranny. They said they did but as you can see they did a **** poor job. I paid them $1500 for the tranny!!!! I expected a little more for that much money.[:@]

 

try using a 700r4 or a turbo 350, ive been using the 700r4 with no problems yet, they hold out a lot longer than the 4l60e

 

Yeah i heard the 700r4 are beasts. You paid 1500 and didnt get a warrenty?

 

i'm guessing after 45k miles that the warranty has long been over

 

dude... i woulda gone with a lifetime warranty.. lol especially if its over a grand..

 

I've never seen a tranny shop offer a lifetime warranty on a rebuild they do. Transmissions don't last forever, unless it's a powerglide

 

the 4l60e is the 700r4 it is just electronic
