Default Restoration Of 1996 Z28

I purchased a 1996 Camaro Convertible last year. We have enjoyed this car a lot this summer and I have decided to do some repairs. The big issue that I have is the quarter panels above the wheel and in front of the wheel are rusting. The left side has a small hole. I called the local Gm garage and tried to order quarter panels and the left side is discontinued and I am concerned about the right side not being available. I also have a connection in the aftermarket but they show nothing available. Looking for some ideas where I can look. The body man fixing the car felt the best fix was not to patch but to replace. Any feed back?

Where are you at? Around me junk yards are full of good donors. I good bodyman can make patchs and weld them in for a seamless all steel repair.

A patch isn't a bad idea at all. I've seen new replacement quarters going for $700-$900, and that's too expensive.
