Rear Gears
My repair book doesn't show how to replace the ring and pinion! What the heck? I looked online and I couldn't really find something that helps either.
Number one... If I buy from richmond gear does it come with installation instructions?
Number two... Is this a hard thing to do? I'm no mechanic but I def have a lot of experience with minor repairs.
Thanks

probly has a separate unit repair manual for it. they are very hard even for the most experianced mechanic. i learned in auto class some 35 yrs ago and thats the only time i did it. lol.

Anyone can go and change out the gears. The problem is adjusting the proper mesh and bearing preload. If not done properly the gears will be annoyingly noisy, and in the worst case lead to premature failure, oil leaks, etc..

If your gears are "outragiously loud... like annoying loud", then they aren't set up correctly. Rearend gears make noise due to a bad mesh, wear, or no oil, not because of being a certain brand.

i have motive gear in mine,,, i just know 3 fbody kids around me have richmonds and theyre all loud.... its because of the material they use... every mechanic or specialty shop ive talked to said they notice a much louder sound from the richmonds
