Default Rear Gears

My repair book doesn't show how to replace the ring and pinion! What the heck? I looked online and I couldn't really find something that helps either.

Number one... If I buy from richmond gear does it come with installation instructions?

Number two... Is this a hard thing to do? I'm no mechanic but I def have a lot of experience with minor repairs.

Thanks

Changing the gear set in the rear diff is NOT for the average person. You can try, but your car is going to be a garage queen with no running gear.

Anyone can go and change out the gears. The problem is adjusting the proper mesh and bearing preload. If not done properly the gears will be annoyingly noisy, and in the worst case lead to premature failure, oil leaks, etc..

If your gears are "outragiously loud... like annoying loud", then they aren't set up correctly. Rearend gears make noise due to a bad mesh, wear, or no oil, not because of being a certain brand.

OK, there's noise and then there's noise. You made it sound like you have a nasty howl...or do you? Everybody has their own idea on how "bad" a noise is.
