rear end blew up

Default rear end blew up

yeah it finally went, its been going out for over a year now but it finally died. been looking at my options mechanic will let me know tomorrow how bad the damage is now I can get my 4.10 gears. College is starting back again in january for me so money is tight. Been looking for a used rear end but no luck here in detroit mi. Mechanic said he may be able to buy new parts and replace but we will see

Shop is telling me 1300 total for another rearend with a richmond 4.10 gears and installation

thats not bad, i paid 900 a few years ago to have mine rebuilt

I am having everything replace with brand new parts and it includes a richmond 4.10 gear

Ugh!! Did it go boom?!? Pics would have been cool. Sorry about the blown rear.

I meant to take pics when I went to the shop but I forgot. Looked like someone put a grenade in there and let it go off

Thats not too bad of a price. You have to consider a set of gears is around 230-280 bucks then about 100 for the instal kit and probaly about 3 hours of labor so say 200 bucks and that would be just to swap the gears. I would say that is a very fair price. If it wasnt for the gears you want i would say check for a used one but if you are set on the gears then go for it.

I hve a used one for sale with stock gears. im in iowa.
havent decided what i want for it yet, but I can garentee you that you could drive down here to get mine, buy 4.10s, and have it all put in for less than 1300.
