radiator

I just made this horrible mistake, felt like total dumba** when it turned brown. I live in MN and currently I can't run a garden hose through mine, Im not driving it, will it hurt it to leave it until spring? If it will I will take it to local shop and have them flush it good for me.

water freezes and expands and is VERY strong (frozen water is what causes potholes) you should NEVER run just water especially when it could freeze
why use 50/50 when you can spend another $ or 2 and get full strength and actually get 2 gallons
50/50 is good on the fly but stupid for a flush and fill this system hold more than 1 gal of coolant

Yes, I was looking at the prices last night between straight antifreeze and 50/50 and it makes more sense to buy the straight and dilute it yourself. Heck, I bet some people just grab a gallon of the 50/50 because the price is cheaper not even knowing that it is not straight antifreeze.

you should get the stuff out as soon as you can. more time and the stuff may gel up. im sure your heater core is not happy either. it will need flused as well. i would go with a engine and heater core flush and a new radiator just so i wouldnt have to worry so much about a clump of gunk coming lose and plugging up the system. it would probly be a good idea to clean the cross over pipe (small pipe going from one side to other) on the back of the heads as well.

Question on radiator cap orientation
When I replaced the thermo last week, I noticed the radiator cap has two arrows on it on opposite sides. Not really paying attention before, I'm just curious as to the proper orientation it should be in. One side just has as "S" on it and the other has an "RC24", therefore which end should be torward the reclaim tube? Or does it really matter?
