Many years ago when I was working for Grumman Aircraft, they sold a radar detector system for fighter planes that would home in on the illuminating radar and fire a missile to neutralize the enemy radar. This thing was so good that the enemy was afraid to turn on their radar. May be possible to buy a surplus system, missiles included, and end your radar worries. lol

That's like searching all the Arabs at the airport just beca-oh wait....nevermind.
I see what you did there. Clever.

But then you'd be in trouble for damaging their equipment. And some states still have a law about not injuring cops too.

Did anyone try to hardwire their detector to a 5th generation? I dont want the cord to hang and I was thinking about buying a wireless one.

You may want to jump over to the 5th gen section and ask them there, we are just poor upscale trailer trash 4th gen owners here.

It's about as annoying as a GPS.

You get what you pay for. The cheap ones work, just not as well. I had whatever cobras top of the line model was for a couple of months, in a Grand Prix. It never would have got me out of a ticket, because i knew where the cops sit, and I would see them before it would go off.

If you are oblivious when you drive, then yes, get one. Otherwise just learn to be vigilant.

To this day I have never been pulled over *knock on wood* followed several times, but the lights never went on.

your so wrong cops can pull you over with an estimated speed and write you a ticket and it will stick like i said before they take an 8 hr course every year on judging speed my cousins a cop he told me in order to pass the test you need to estimate 5 cars and be within +/- 3MPH and if you fail you get desk duty

I don't know the law here in IN, but in NY what Basic is saying is true. Especially state police, I understood they only used laser, and their own vision. Both of which would hold up in court.

deff in ny my buddy got pulled over in a 55 he was doing 75 cruse control and the cop got him estimated 76 pretty good

here in sc its the same too a judgment stands and all cops have laser and they can catch you from up to 1 mile your radar detector can maybe pick up a signal from 300 yards
