quick CAI question

Default quick CAI question

hey the CAI silencer, thats that big as tube thing right? my last camaro i cut it off and i jsut want to make sure its cool to do that now on this one and that it was teh right part..thanks

wait.. CAI's have a silencer? lol. i've never seen a CAI with a silencer, but i havent seen that many of them. i know the one on the ION isnt silenced, that thing made my engine so friggan loud. and i hear it sucking air over my exhaust from inside the car..

What year & engine are you talking about? The stock LT1s come with an air elbow that has silencer tube attached underneath (donkey dong). If you cut that off, you need to seal up the opening in order to prevent sucking up all kinds of dirt and damaging your engine. As far as I know CAIs keep the same old elbow.

lol so i stuffed an axe shower gel cap in there (it was a tight squeeze) and i threw the old snap ring back on... hope it works... lolwho knows? maybe my exhaust will start to smell like axe? means all the female cars will wanna piece of my maro


problem now is that i dont have a cap for my soap ... i just bought the crap yesterday

look on ebay and buy a le elbow it will save you the hassen and it will look better.

Or don't worry about it since the "donkey dong" does not protrude into the intake so it can't hinder flow too much...
