Questions about changing clutch
I will be changing out my clutch this week - along with the pressure plate, pilot bearing, flywheel, slave cylinder w/ bearing, rear main seal and gasket.
I have a good understanding on what to do thanks to this video below and the step-by-step guide on Install University:
A few questions:
1) How much clearance do I need under the car? My floor jack tops out at 11” so I might have to rent one. My 2 ton stands will do 16” which should be enough. Just want to make sure I can slip the trans out from under the car.
2) Anything else I might want to replace while I have the tranny out? I hear about the driveshaft seal but I’ll wait to see if it’s leaking or not since it’s an easy replacement.
3) Is it worth renting a tranny jack or will an extra floor jack do?
Any other tips are welcome
