A question about vent visors/shades.
I was curious if anyone with a 4th gen has installed vent visors like the ones from AVS. I was curious about how they mount and look due to the top of the window being freefloating and not framed in. I put them on most of the cars ive owned because I like the way they look, and the let me keep my windows cracked when its raining or when its hot and the car is parked. Ive noticed in the Camaro that because of the shape of the car that any water that touches my windshield runs right up and drops in my doors. I was curious how they woould function due to the design of overhanging the window. Would you have to roll the window down to open or close the door?

Some of them do. The ones I have on my Jeep attach inside the window channel itself, and therefore wouldnt work. Some of them stick to the outside around the weather stripping area. I know if you do a part search on Oreilly or the likes website, they do make them for the fourth gen. Thats where the problem lies. I was curious if anyone had them to find out how they mount without a window frame.
Had the on my sons Furd ZX2. Believe me, they do not work well at all without a frame to attach them to the door itself. They have to be so high up on the roof edge (to clear the window when the door is opened), they don't really provide any protection against rain if the window is cracked a bit. Completely useless IMO.
Thanks! Thats pretty much the conclusion that I had in mind, but its always good to have a second opinion.
So with that said, how do I keep from water pouring in my window if it rains a little or I use my washers?

I'll see if I can find a link somewhere...

No, im talking about with the windows cracked open. My doors do actually leak with the carwash and whatnot, but this particular issue is having the windows open. However, knowing how to make more doors stop leaking would be helpful
Mine too. Dont think there is a way. There was no design consideration. May be able to rig something up to deflect water away from the edge of the windshield or something. I have to roll my windows up if I intend on using the windshield washer, or if just drips right in..lol...If your doors are leaking, you need new molding. Mine leak too, but replacement molding aint cheap with the t-tops, it's all one piece. I suppose you could get one from a donor car, but more than likely they will leak too.
