Default Question About True Dual Exhaust

So I'm biting the bullet in late march and having true dual exhaust ran on the Camaro. I'm putting a dual in, dual out magnaflow muffler with an internal crossover in the stock location of my current muffler. Since this muffler has an internal crossover, do I still need an x/h pipe at the front of the exhaust system?

I was told the x pipe made more power than the h pipe. True? False?

I don't know that the x design of the muffler is going to add much power, but it should help with the sound. Generally, with a cross-over, it's more effective being close to the headers/downpipes, but it's not "needed". With the dual in/dual out muffler, what's the plan for snaking the pipes in, around, and out the back of the car?

True Duals are a colossal waste on a 3.4L, IMHO. There is no way you need more flow than a single 3in. pipe couldn't handle!

You will never feel it in the seat of your pants and most likely not see it a the drag strip.

X does make more power over H but H sounds more like old school muscle car where X is more modern.

Now granted this is on an LS vs a 3.4, but I assume it would be similar.

Pardon me, but I don't do all my mods for performance and I'm assuming OP isn't either.

Side by side all the way back in the factory location and over the axle lol. They fit. Already have everything mapped out and the exhaust shop has already looked at the car and said they can do it with dual 2.5" pipe.

I don't care about a huge hp gain. I want the smoother sound of true dual. I absolutely dispize of the nasty crackle that our cars make at high rmps. So true dual it is. And the cool factor to be able to say I have it and most others don't. In fact I'll be the only f-body in my town with true dual exhaust. Lol
