Question about OBD2 SW-CAN on 96
Hi all,
Brand new here but hoping to contribute. I have a 96 Camaro and want to get the most/best diagnostic info I can from a Bluetooth OBD2 adapter and I was wondering if it makes sense to pay the extra money for one that supports SW-CAN?
I searched the forum and couldn't find any posts specific to Single Wire CAN and the 96 - apologies if I overlooked something obvious, RTFM, etc. Does anyone know if they had it in the OBDII setup back on the '96s?
Any info would be super appreciated and I'm willing to send updates or do anything else I can to help.
Best Regards,
Rich

As for the OBD2 BT adapter, get one from BAFX. They are the only cheap ones that are guaranteed to work on a 96 GM car. The other cheaper ones will probably not work despite the claims. They are skimping on the parts lately and dropping the lesser used protocols (except BAFX). The last 4 OBD2 adapters I bought from China did not work for early GM or Ford. Only the BAFX one worked. When I took apart the adapters, it was obvious they had deliberately left out parts.
