I put a K&N CAI on my car a few months ago and im just wondering exactly how careful i need to be when it is raining or when its wet out. Maybe a good RPM - MPH range or something. Im pretty areful when its wet out and obviously some of it would depend on how hard its raining but any good numbers would be nice. Currently i try to keep the RPMs below 2000 and under 40 mph.

 

Why would you need to be careful when it's wet because you have a CAI? Maybe I'm just not understanding the question you're trying to ask [&o]

 

Like if its positioned lower it might suck up water?

I'm careful in the rain with my intake I set up.
I've got the DIY Ram-Air that goes up under the bumper, so I generally keep it under 3k.

But you shouldn't be going fast in the rain anyway

 

The air filter has a piece of vented plastic between it and the ground so its really close. It goes down beneath whre the stock air was at.

 

there should be a plastic compartment around the filter if it goes down... and in that case, the only reason you would have to be care ful would be to not downshif on a wet or frozen bridge (AKA death.) or just losing control from traction

 

Like Baseballer said, it should sit under a splash guard, so you shouldn't have anything to worry about. If you don't have the splash guard I would suggest getting one though.
