with a LT1? not quite sure. lol, i would assume either a cam, gears or something along those lines. or if you want to spend some money, stroke it. for a LS1, deffently heads and cam.

and the weak parts on the 4th gens are the Drivetrain BTW. so doing a new driveshaft, clutch and rear axel might be advantagious too, depending on how far you wanna take the car.

Ok I need help with this... My camaro right now when your driving it makes a ear piercing noise it almost sounds like a peanut grinder when you let off the gas it stops and it starts again when you touch the gas... Could it be the gears in the axle or the driveshaft?

i have no idea, but i wouldnt think it was gears. they turn when you let off gas too. if it's a 5sp, it mite be clutch, when under load.. meaning bad clutch. but again, i dont know.

Its automatic.... Im thinking it could be the driveshaft... it makes sense as you go faster it gets worse and its under more stress when you hit the gas then release the gas it gets quiet as its slowing down...

instead of telling you 10 dumb things, you should take a fellow car guy with you for a ride and see what they say.
