problem with starting
This past week for some reason the car has been acting strange
It will start the second or third time I turn the ignition. I can hear the starter cranking but
it wont start until the second or third attempt. Any suggestions? Thanks y'all.

Try turning your key on (not start) for a few seconds, then off. Do that a few times, which will be priming the pump and building up fuel pressure. If the engine then starts easier, you have a fuel pressure problem. The pump or a clogged filter would be suspect.

If the starter was going bad it would not be cranking the engine. As Chuck indicated, there is a good chance the fuel pressure is not holding when the engine is turned off. Could be a bad pump, including pump check valve, pressure regulator, or leaky injector. Check fuel pressure with a gauger, following instructions per the FSM, or as posted on this site.

I had the same issue, and mine turned out to be a plugged up cat. After removing the cat the car started just fine. I guess my cat was plugged up enough to build up enough pressure to keep the engine from starting right. I suppose after 206k miles and the original exhaust this was bound to happen. Have you had your exhaust changed? If the above suggestions don't help you might check into this.

Yep, the starter just up and quit after a few turns. Could be the starter solenoid, or an electrical issue associated with it. Does it do this every first cold start? Hook up a test meter to the "s" terminal (smaller wire) on the starter solenoid, and have a buddy start the engine while you watch. Have him keep the key in the start position if the starter quits. If you're still getting a 12 volt-ish reading on the meter, it's the starter. If no meter reading, it's a wiring issue or your ignition switch.
