multiple times this summer i've come out from work to find that my car won't start the only light on the dash showing is the security light. there have been no signs of an attempted break in. its simple enough to just disconnect the battery and reset it that way but i'm wondering if there's anyway to disconnect it of if there's a reason why its happening?
Any ideas are appreciated

I've got the security light on steady here too, but no ignition trouble yet (thankfully). I'm sure its on the way tho...

 

Make sure the contacts on the key are clean, and spray inside the key tumbler with an electrical cleaner. Your problem could be as simple as a buildup of crud on the reader, or could be more involved concerning the rest of the VATS system.
