Is this a Precursor or a Sign of a Transmission Problem looming in the future?....

It's a broken trans. mount.

I returned today from a shop that does only transmission repairs and drive train problems with that diagnosis.

They quoted it at $150 even though they had it replaced 3 years ago, they did not offer a lower price or a warranty

I will have it done for $130 at a repair shop that I am super loyal to for $130.

I will save up to replace the motor mounts since the tech said if the motor mounts are as old as the trans. mount, the motor mounts should be replaced also.

If the motor mounts should be replaced soon, they do not seem like it -- opening the hood and looking at the engine bay the engine does not rattle back and forth from side to side so that's good news while I save up to replace motor mounts to nip problems in the bud.

I'd keep your lead foot out of it 'till you get those motor mounts done.
