Default Power window won't go up

Well I just bought a 1995 Z28, but ofcourse it has a few things wrong. One of em is that the Driver side power window will go down, but will not go up. You can push the up button and pull on the window and it will eventually make it up but it can't on its own. Any ideas on what is the problem? I don't think it is the motor, so i'm assuming some parts just need lubing. Any help would be appreciated.

It's the motor. They're notorious for dying. If you're mechanically inclined you can change it yourself although it does require drilling and remounting rivets. More than likely, your best bet would be to have it professionally done.

Alright thanks guys.
Should I contact a dealer and go through them or try a regular professional shop?

Neither. Do it yourself and save some serious coin.

You can get two motors and a kit that will rewire both doors so this problem doesn't happen again.

Follow this link, I did this to my '94 and the windows work awesome.
AutoTrix :: Window Fix Kit with Motors Bundle

There are also easy to follow instructions on the site for this project. Should only take a Saturday to do both doors, and only common tools are needed.

Well Grandpaswagon I will consider your option. Otherwise how difficult is it to replace just the motor itself? Because I can buy the motor for about $55 but they're charging me over 150$ for an hour and a half of work to do he said. So I'd rather do it on my own if it isn't to difficult.

You can check out the link I gave you and they have a procedure for changing the motor. Complete with pics and a tools required list. Go read through that, and then decide if you can handle the project.

FWIW - If you can read and know how to properly use basic tools, changing the motor is a piece of cake. Just go slow when removing the door panel so that you don't break any of the plastic retainers.
