Power Window Switch or Motor

My 99 Camaro has 12v on the power window motor connector when it is unplugged from motor. When I connect it to the motor the voltage drops to 0.50v. I thought a short in motor.
However if I connect 12v to one lead of motor and ground to other motor lead, the motor works fine and goes backwards if I switch polarity.
Also worth noting; both windows stopped working at the same time.
Any ideas where the problem is.

I believe I read a thread on here showing some type relay under the dash that could go bad that controls the window motors but can't find it. I believe Craby posted a wiring diagram of it on that link.

kool so you would have auto up,,, if you could only get the plugin in backward. lol. i think you may be right and the motor has a short or the auto down modual has a short.

Great diagrams. Found a bad ground was the culprit. The previous owner made a harness and put in after-market switches. No auto down. Would like to wire it in but original harness not there. Is there a schematic of the Express down module or retained accessory power module on page 8A-201-9 Fig 17. Maybe they are relays i can wire in.
