Despite nonstop torrential rain I enjoyed it. The wipers got a good workout!. Indiana has this oddball law where a dealer cannot give the buyer the title until the buyer either picks the car up or has it delivered. As a result I had no plates on the car. I stayed within the speed limit so not to draw attention. I had no problem with LE. If the convertible top was going to leak it would have on that trip.

This is my '97 RS and my '89 1LE R7U.
I bought the RS new as a daily driver and put 170,000km on it before trading it in after 9 years.
5 years ago I found it for sale again on FB Marketplace and bought it back with 242,000km on the odometer. I did a full restoration on it (new motor, clutch, brakes, suspension, exhaust, tires...) during Covid and it is once again my daily driver. Current mileage is 265,000 km. It has a Series III motor, Torsen LSD and SS exhaust from SLP. Still has original paint. Both cars have collector plates on them as well, as they are "stock".
