Possible Sticky Lifter? Advice Requested...
Hello All,
Just wanted to throw an idea out here in the forums...
Ever since I acquired my 2002 B4C Camaro, upon initial cold starting a very faint "clicking" could be heard coming from inside the motor. I have now had the vehicle for 7 months and the "clicking" has become progressively worse. This "clicking," however, is only very noticable when the vehicle is idling just after a cold start. I live in the Phoenix, Arizona area, so the overall nightly temps don't really get too chilly.
My question to you all is, what exactly could this be, based on experience from longer-time Camaro owners? Could this just be a case of a "sticky lifter," or do I have something more serious going on underneath the hood? Are the lifters adjustable with the Camaro? What could be done to remedy this issue?
Thanks in advance for the time and consideration of those who read and respond to this thread. I look forward to hearing your responses.
Best Regards,
Steve B.

Could be a bad lifter, a bent push rod, a spark jumping to ground. Get a listening stick or an automotive stethoscope and try to pin down the location of the noise.
