Default Possible MAF sensor problems

I a 94 Z28 and I have noticed that when I attempt to pass another car, that my car starts to stumble and losses power. It does not do this every time though, it seems to do it once the engine warms up. I have done a tune up on the car to see if that would help but still does it. A friend made mention if a possible bad mass air flow sensor, so I cleaned it with (MAF) sensor cleaner. It seemed to help out for a couple days but then the stumbling occurred again. I read online that if you unplug the sensor the computer guns in a by-pass type mode, so I tried that and the motor stalled out. I attempted to start the car again still with the maf unplugged and the car did start. Should the car have stalked out when I pulled the plug on it? The symptoms point to the maf sensor being bad or on the verge of going out. Any help would be great and very much appreciated, thanks for your assistance in advance.

Are you throwing any codes? I had a similar problem not too long ago. The culprit was a bad engine sensor fuse. It's a 15A fuse in the box under the hood. It might not be the same in a '94, but if you're throwing a MAF code, it's worth checking.
