look at new z to me thread i just pulled back up ,if you got to have hard top an manual ,bye all meens go for it ,personaly i like bang for my buck ,its when we are not looking we .run into the best deals ,like said i found 4 cars 60.000 miles for under $6000.00 ,i paid $5500 for mine with 69.000 miles .i drove 300 miles round trip on a sunday an had it home at 8pm,the 99 3800 with 88.000 $2000.00 an one grand to make it inspectable for real safty is important. i just ran into cold acc runns great ,i am just .leary of anything over 100.000 miles ,$its a choise why do you need a hard top ,from the factory they costed less ,then a t roof ,right car right deal i would drive about 1000 miles ,for a good car ,after seeing about 20 pictures of the car an long talks with the seller, the one with 107.000 miles ,offer $3500,i dont put as many miles on my cars anymore working at home so my 95 now has 100.000 avergeing 5000 to 7000 per year an 8 years now owning it ,so the first 30 months more then paid for the car ,i like to get to a point where it owes me nothing ,now it owes me about 4 years to pay for the.swap ,my figure is about 225.00 per month.payments ,if i had been makeing them cheap for a desent sports car ,you all can doo what ever . you like ,i just dont ever like to think i paid.to much the 50.000 mile car is out there for $5000.00 it just .wontt be every day will see that ,an probley when i am brock ,looking back on the .3800 ,when i ran into the ss with 87.000 miles rally red too.would like to get it for $4000.00 well ,is what it is,you will find one i just would keep up the search your looking for one ceratin car ,will take more time ,with winter you will find it,there out there ,i sell jewlery on ebay ,an sometimes i am 8 hours finding that one ring to resell or the gemstone to have mounted ,hours ann hours of .shopping ,no matter what i hope you. find what you.. like an it . runs good for you ,i am not good with the links ,but just this past weekend i seen all those cars 2 ss cars an one z28 in newyork all.black,i have to admit with my swap to the 406 i .spent about $3000.00 more then i wanted top, though i have something i can work with ,an now theres no stoping there ,now that i have 2 i feel like i can take my time with the 95 an make it great ,i feel you on the 100hp more too,i live in south NH ,got my car in maine ,the other.in NH

I am looking for a m6 car because I don't find automatic in a sports car fun to drive. I also like the hardtop because the last car I test drove was a hardtop and was very tight and rattle free. I have never been a fan of t-tops.

There are bargains out there. I found a hardtop auto I could buy for $2500. But that would also mean I got an auto which I don't want and the last thing I want to do is settle for it because it's cheaper. Later on down the road I don't want to be looking into doing s m6 swap and that cost when I could of avoided that from the beginning.

If I don't purchase this car I will hold out and continue looking. I just figured the m6 hardtop seemed like a good deal and I didn't want to miss out on it so I asked here to make a more informed decision.

well no i would not settle either ,there has to be .a low miles hard top out there with 6 speeds ,its comeing ,m6 hard top is that a rare car ,i had hear that they made a hard top that was not .marked was like an ss hard top,all i find is that you get a 6 speed hard top an most were an ss ,as far as how many .mabey someon else.knows ,to each there own ,i just would not .sacrfice low for high miles ,if there car was well taken care ,of that one the drivers eat alone tells me how one took care of the car ,for the most part ,i guess there hard top .z28 or ss with 6 speeds ,the ss being the hardest to find .automatic tranmisions can be made to shift ,just need shift kit,the 2 i have any rattling i hear has nothing to do .with t tops ,only rattle i evr hear come from where the spare sits.bit from dash ,any rattle comeing from a t top car i would. stay away from to ,some people drive these cars down dirt roads am hard too,i dont drive mine down any dirt roads ,an if i do like 5 mph short distence ,i will make someone walk.rather then get on to long a dirt driveway,on thing i did hear is most said there hard to find ,so take your time

Im sure there is one out there, only other one I found on the east coast is in the south and it had 97k on it and they wanted $10k. Not horrible, but cant afford it right now.

Im not sure if it is a rare car but it seems to be somewhat rare as the majority I have seen listed are autos.

I also decided to just check out the t-top m6 cars and the ones I found in the same price range as the car I asked about were close in mileage and with similar interior issues. If u want to take a tear in the seat as car neglect then thats fine, but it doesnt necissarily mean the rest of the car was neglected. Its not like these cars had premium seat materials either.

After my friend totaled my 84, & then lost his shop lease over a girl half his age, while my 96z28 was in the middle of a hard top to t top swap, I had to start over. It took a month and I found 95z28, t top M6 fully loaded, leather black on black w/93k miles. I paid 3300 & I've been so happy! It was traded in at a Chevy dealer by a pharmacist who babied it.got Carfax, spoke to owner for history & since may 1st it's my daily driver. While it's not as fast as my 96 A4, the M6 is hella fun. The point is to be patient. I budget $5k and would not settle for a ride that was beat to ****. I ended up getting a nice one well under budget as I cashed out vacation time to pay for it. Keep looking & don't fall for one unless it meets your criteria... Best wishes
