The plot thickens............
Ok, so first some background. I had a dark green on tan leather '95 3.4 auto that I rolled a week before graduation. Engine and transmission were both just fine, so I was kinda half-looking for something to swap them into. Last summer I started gutting the thing out, and I came across a '96 Z28 that was only hitting on 7 (and the idiot had been running it like that for years). It was the exact same color (outside and in) as the one that I rolled. I figured I could pull out the bad motor and swap in the engine/tranny from the one that I wrecked (please refrain from laughing...I now know the folly of my ways), so we picked up the Z for $1000 and started working on it. If I kept the V8 in, I didn't think I would be able to insure it until I was 25. The body and paint were both in very good shape, save for a dent in the rear fender that we popped out. The interior was pretty well trashed, so I swapped out the carpet, seats, and door panels. We eventually figured out that the V6 swap wasn't going to work out, so I left for school with two Camaros in pieces. Then in December, I found the 1994 high mileage V6 that you guys all know about. I started researching and collecting parts to do a 3500 top end swap. I figured I would put the Z back together, sell it, and use the money for this. Well I just got a call from home this morning. It turns out that to insure the Z, it will cost less than it's costing me to insure my '99 Grand Am SE V6. So it looks like I'm gonna be rockin' an LT1 this summer after all
