My passenger side cat is bad on my 98 Z28 and I wondered if the cat on anything other than a v8 would fit?

Nope! The Z uses 2 mini cats but the V6 has one cat after the "Y" pipe. Best to get a pair of new cats for the car. Magnaflow makes a good cat that will have better flow than stock and will run about the same $$ wise.
