hey guys just got my 98 trans am wit t-tops leather automatic. i bought the car from fremont lexus dealership and man this car looks sweet its bone stock and the paint still glistens as if it was just taken off the show room floor. i got the car for 5500 but the only bad thing is it has 161634 miles on it when i bought it. it was taken through a 161 point inspection and carfax was clean. so im here asking what things i need to really watch out for (car runs excellent) since its high mileage. what are some of the best things i can do to get better mpg?? and im looking for an exhaust im thinking bout slp loudmouth 3..but if u know any other exhausts let me know i want something really aggressive to let them know im coming...so get back to me this is my first car and first fbody its a blast to drive just wish it was a 6-speed...oh well...thanks

 

First things first I would change your oil and get a good synthetic oil, check over all of your fluids. Then you can get some kind of fuel system treatment that may or may not help MPG. As far as what to watch out for I would just say to keep up with any maintanence and try to resist the urge to completely beat on it. If taken care of your car should run for a long time. Most poeple seem to like SLP exhaust for being loud but I have never heard of the LM3 so I can't comment from experience. Check youtube for exhaust clips, there are hundreds, I can't do it because I have no sound on my computer. Also are you looking for just the loudest thing there is or do you want a nice sound too. Usually a louder more freeflowing exhaust will be quite raspy if you like that type of thing.
