So I just bought a 94 z28 camaro. It's red, t tops, 6 speed with 164000 miles. It runs pretty good but has a couple things that need some work. The front suspension on the passengers side squeaks but the main problem is this misfire. It runs great on idle and rev and usually when just cruising at 60 but sometime at low rpm while cruising it flutters. It is really bad sometime on an accel. If I really get on it, it will miss and flutter bad sometimes. If I'm accelerating slower its usually ok. What do you think?? Thanks. Oh ya and it has new plugs and a k&n intake and cat back flowmaster(all previous owner, small dealership where I bought it did the exhaust so it is brand new)

sounds like the opti issues im experiencing. no SES light?

 

no light. Runs good most of the time usually just bad at wide open

 

does it feel like its being slowed down at all? not asquick or torqueyas usual?

 

I had the same symptoms 2 weeks ago I changed the opti and coil and now she runs like a champ

 

Could be the opti, but it could also be a clogged cat if it's only doing it in high RPMs.

 

Nope cat is gutted from previous owner. Ya it feels slow but misses a crap ton. Also does it a little at low rpm when I try to accell without down shifting.

 

Not trying to hijack the post, but i have a 93 lt1 and i have some what the same problem when it heats up, it seem slike it looses power. Also it will run great then fall flat on its face and chug around 300-500 rpms Almost as if its running out of gas car will not accelerate at all and sometimes die and not restart, Cat will get red hot and start smoking. Is this a spark problem or a fuel problem?
