I have the fastest car in my school. Ok for half the fact that most everyone drives a truck including my self. But there are some RSX's and 3 camaro's including mine and a couple of mustangs. I am acually pretty happy that i have my car now. I have the fastest car here and I have the only camaro with a 350.

 

sweet, ame over at my school, most everyone drives trucks, but that rx7's got the title for now at my school, used to be my friend before he graduated with his 99 svt cobra supercharged, but im hopin once i get my z, and build her up, ima grab that title away from him, bout the only other person id have to go up against is a dude with a 240 sx turbo and on the bottle, come to think of it, a dude just started drivin a 97 - 04 model corvette, dont think hes into the ive got the most hp scene though

 

It's nice to be the fastest around, but realize, there is always a faster car: you just haven't run into it yet, but you will

My vette is an example. It's a legit low tens car even with poor launches: from 45 up it's awesome and very few can hang with it for even a few seconds, but there are a handful of cars cruising central NC that can kill it, including one really nasty 3 liter Supra running something like two atmospheres of boost. Someho9w, those cars always seem ti find me if I'm out cruising, as I was tonite. I know them all and they know me so we sort of downplay it on the street.

Regardless, the point is you need to be a little careful out on the street: don't pick serious races and if a race one you think was going to be easy turns out to be tough, don't hang in there up to high speed: give it up before someone gets hurt. And it will happen. I've lost two friends in the last 45 years to stupid street races/showing off. My son has a friend who can't walk (paralyzed) as a result of a really stupid stunt in a Mustang.

Sorry to preach like this: but you know, it really isn't hard to find a local track anywhere in the US.

 

u from around nc? im in the rdu area, but theres a guy out my way with a twin turbo ls1 that claims to have 800 + hp, id like to see you vette or maro at the track sometime if ur from around here, they both sound really sick

 

i agree with all of the above and addition for example i drive a 98 z28 if i see another one or a T/A i have nothing but respect and comradery for the other driver and their car. and most of them do the same back. but its different with import drivers especially where i live (northern VA). all they do is rev theirvacuum cleanerand blast that coocarambo music, i dont try to race em but if they come at me first i wont back down. i remember smokin a honda accord coupe when i had my 97 3.8. then a week later another honda wrecked it. but their insurance company was generous and thats how i got my LS1. the end lol

well, mine, as of this year is fastest car at my school, but im selling it, last year(graduated people) there was a TT RX7 that ran 8s(claims), a 3.4 stroked supra with TT, a RSX-S that, idk what was done to it, but it was all black, black everything, and gave the RX7 and Supra good run for their money, of coarse though, i live in lake george, and those were all drug dealers too. rite now, a kid has a turbo'ed 97 eclipse(205HP/210TRQ stock) that I KNOW was in the shop for bout 4 months, came out all pretty, but he hasnt let ANYONE know what was done under hoodd, if anything. needless to say, he wants to race me... of coarse from a ROLL too... i said i would from a DIG. and he said no. he's also the type of kid that does 130 on highway for fun. and goes into a fit if he loses, which he has only once, to a RSX-R.

i'd like to race him.. but not from a roll, specially if he's got a bigger than stock turbo(maybe TT) in it.

If your friend has an 800+ HP twin turbo LS1, then I've probably seen him ;somewhere, but no LS1 I know of makes nearly that much power. Takes a complete rebuild (and iron an block with tough bottom end) or a C5R racing block, to go muchpast700 flywheel.Not many around with that power, either. Toughest turbo Camaro I know is Kevin Arnold's '98.

Note I'm only #10 on the list, by the way: my 'vette is probably the only one on the whole first page you can drive to work in heat and traffic every day, but its definately outgunned but some of the big dogs above it -- but note there is not a twin turbo LS1 on the first or second pages: nothing above 580 HP.

 

i dont get how on all teh import engines they can run massive HP without engine stress... but half the time, they drop a LS1 in there drag racing cars, hehe, ive seen supras, rx7s and skylines with LS1s in em. same with the 3800, i was reading on another maro forum, that some of the people who have 500 600 horse 3800s(TT, N20) have never thrown a piston or anything, on stock internals) and they were saying that no one really knows how much a good condition 3800 can handle, cuz all the blow ups are from improper building, and all the propper ones have reached max HP gain without changing internals(due to nothing left to do, not capability)

 

hes not my friend, i just met him at a gas station one time, said he was from roxboro, and had a twin turbo ls1on nitrous, and claimed 800 + horsies, but u know and i know hp is kinda like how big the fish you caught last weekend was when you tell the story to ur friends
