RE: which ones better?
As far as the tires go, you're probably going to get better traction from the Hoosier, but the M/T might get you a better ET. The Hoosier's would fit, but they are a blias-ply tire, meaning you should get a bias-ply skinny for the front so you don't have any control issues between a radial and bias-ply tire. The reason you could get a better time with the M/T even if they don't offer better traction is the Hoosier are going to require a tube which adds weight. They're going to be more adjustable than the M/T, but that's something you'll have to decide if you want it. I have a set of M/T ET Streets (same as the Hoosier, but made by M/T) and I have yet to run on them since I don't have fronts yet...*sigh*

You will roast the stock clutch when launching on slicks. It would be a good idea to upgrade. If you don't have a built rear-end, thats not going to last long either.
Slvr, ET streets are great, so many people I know run them. - better than the popular Nitto555R. They do wear out faster than the 555R's, but they have superior traction. I was considering Toyo Proxes R888s for street tires.

If its still grabby it will be fine for now. I'm just saying that launching hard on slicks puts a tremendous amout of stress on the drivetrain. Stock rear will eventually blow out on a radial - let alone a slick. If it wasn't abused much before or has low miles - then you have more time, but its really only a matter of time. I was at the track Friday, and there were several F-bodies whose rears were nearing the end of their lives.
Try to find out what clutch your seller installed.
