I'm still learning about the 4th gen. Did they change lights on later years? Is this an easy swap?

Da 1998-2002 have the 'catfish' bubble eyes.. they are also the camaro models that come with the LS1. so associate any v8 'catfish' with LS...
1993-1997 have the recessed ugly square headlights. however, still i love the cars. but I wish mine was a bubbly headlighter...

swapping lights onto a 93-97 is moderate if your up for the job. u need front bumper, both quarter panels, hood, mounts, and lights.. and no how.. theres a thread around here somewhere for it

Any 97 could come with the Annaversary package, and not all did. The Special Annaversary package was arctic white with Hugger Orange stripes. This was only available in SS and Z28s.

If the 97 is a Special Annaversary then jump on it! Otherwise go with the LS1 car, hands down.

I was just assuming based on what torque is good said, that after 1999 they changed or improved the bubble lights.

So people are changing out the bubble/catfish lights for the older style?

My 95, IMHO looks bad a.....

yes, the LS1 is a better engine than the LT1 and the LS7 is better than the LS1. THat is what is suppose to happen as new models are released

But, my 95 is quite stout and the LT1 rebuilt and rebuilt street/strip tranny gives me a car that will roast the tires without standing on the brakes and starts every time the key is turned. I personally do not like the looks of the front end of the 98-02 Camaros.

If i get an LS1 powered vehicle, it will be a Trans Am.

Am I a fan of the optispark? Heck no but once you find a waterpump that is good (no thanks to NAPA) then you soon forget about the opti because the car runs well.

I also like the looks of the older style headlights. I think the SS will become a collector's piece faster then either of the Z28s will, I'd definitely look into it more. I've had no problems at all with my LT1 car. The LT1 vs LS1 battle is mostly a matter of opinion as far as I can tell. So what it really comes down to is this: which one do you like more?

If it is going to be an everyday driver, I would go with the ls1. If it is more of an investment car, I would lean toward the ss if it is a true ss. Only the future will tell which model will hold the higher value. I think in the long run the ss will win that battle.
