Lol, SIKE!!! Well the car is gettin on my nerves, Ok here is my problem, I need new brakes and a new rotor. Its a long story that makes me feel like a moron. Any way how much do you think the pads and rotors will be? And has anyone changed these them selves?

I had my front rotors turned, and put Ray Bestos Professional Grade Plus ceramic rotors on the front and it cost me about $80. I'm going to do the rear soon, and intend on it to be about $50 for turning my rear rotors and new organic pads.

Arent ceramic brakes a bad idea? I know that the major flaw with the Mclaren CLKs or w/e is that they use ceramic brakes and they catch on fire and wear easily stopping quickly or from higher speeds (like even freeway speeds)

I just did my front brakes and rotors. Parts from Advance Auto was like $25 per rotor(new) and IDK $25 for a set of front brakes. I had them done in about an hour total. I called around for turning rotors and the prices were higher than I could get new rotors for.

Did mine with the help of a friend who was two weeks into his high school auto shop. I guess it was easy since he new where things were, so use a manual as suggested. I went with drilled and slotted rotors with high performance brake pads in the front and stock rotors and pads in the back.

Took less than two hours for all four. Could have been shorter but I put one of the rotors in backwards and didn't realize it until I was putting the other side on! But I think you'll just have to worry about that if you put on the drilled rotors since they are designed to go a certain way.

Front rotors and high perf. brakes cost about $130 and the rear rotors and pads were like $45.
