I am rebuilding my lt1 out of a 94 z28 i bought a stock rebuild kit which came with a new oil pump but no pick up tube, When i went to use my old after i cleaned it i found that where it is pressed into the housing that it was to small so i went to summit to get a new one and the one they had was a smaller pick screen about half the size will this matter.

 

what rebuild kit? what oil pump? part number for oil pickup? links are always better.
