Default oil pressure gauge

Has anyone replaced their oil pressure gauge in the instrument cluster on a 97 Z28?

I hooked up a mechanical gauge to my engine and my oil pressure is great from that but when hooked up normally my gauge reads really low, and at idle it drops down far enough to kick on the check gauges light. I have changed the sending unit and same result.

Thanks

Joe

If the actual gauge is suspected to be faulty, I'd recommend installing an aftermarket gauge. The only way to correct a faulty gauge on our cars is to replace the entire instrument panel. Not a hard task, just more expensive than it ought to be.
