I just replaced my oil pressure sending unit. Now it says that I am getting between 90-100 psi. My engine just turned 100K. I think its safe to say that the sending unit is off. What are you all getting for pressure in your 3.8? The 90-100 is after the car has been running, upon start up it reads about 120.

Either you have the wrong sending unit or the sending unit is demented. A stock engine does not go much more than 60-70 PSI. Did you mess around with the pressure relief valve, or put gear oil in the crankcase?

No Pete, I was just about to get on to the highway one night and looked down at my gauges and it says" Check Guages" NO OIL PRESSURE!!!!! so I just shut her down. The sending unit was pissing out oil. Lost only 1/2 a quart. Thank God I didnt get on the highway. So I went to AutoZone and asked for a new unit, I replaced it in a parking lot (after my Dad bailed me out by picking me up in his 04 GTO) and t read high oil pressure. Like between 60 to 90 PSI. I just changed my oil and now its reading higher which I know is usual. Part was identical to the one I took out. Electric guages are always wrong, but that wrong?

I am going to replace it with a mechanical guage, I was as we say stuck at the time, middle of no where. The closest place open was a speed shop. I was hoping they had a brass plug or something, with it being a pipe thread. So that was my only option.
