Yes, some fiberglass hoods don't perfectly fit but they are close enough to make them fit perfectly. I did have to do mods to mine though. I had to lower my hinges and sand the front down a little so it lined up with the front clip. The only imperfections of my hood are chipped paint because I never clear coated my hood so it is just paint and takes a beating considering I live in the mountains (gravel roads and stuff).

I would go with the after market hood. They don't require intense Modding but they hive the camaro a nice look.

Nothing will fit as well as an OEM hood.

Well, I just figured if I were to keep OE it would keep the value up, plus with them not making them anymore why not have an extra original around ya know.

I find OEM SS hoods in my area constantly for around $400, but the problem is getting to it before everyone else does. When one is listed for sale, its sold very fast.

Ya, I am going to bid on one on ebay right now. I figured 8 would be the cheapest I will find it.

I found a guy here selling an OE SS hood, $800. I don't need one THAT bad.

an aftermarket fiberglass from ASCD is $500 and from what I hear it's one of the better ones. I do wonder though about durability with fiberglass.
My hood is an ASCD hood and it's been on the car since October of 2003. My Camaro is a daily driver, so it's seen all the weather you can imagine. It's help up great, and there are no flaws in it whatsoever. I would highly recommend this hood due to my positive experience.

So does anyone think that 800 is a fair price? I am about to try and buy it.... just wanted to know if I could find one cheaper any time soon.
