Default Non posi to Posi.

If I was to take two rear ends. One posi and one non posi. Can I take the carrier from the posi and swap it into the non posi housing. Reason I am asking. I have a posi from a 02 SS and the stock rear out of my 99 V6. The issues are traction control. I have a posi from a 95 Z28 in there now and because its a traction control set up, the ABS will not work properly. So I have the other two rear ends. Can I swap the guts from one to the other?

If the car came with traction control, it uses a 4 channel ABS set up, with speed sensors at each wheel. If it did not come with traction control, it uses a 3 channel set up, with speed sensors at each front wheel, and reluctor ring in the differential. Also the ABS control unit and PCM programming, and wiringare totally different. SO, if you interchange rears, the car will run OK, but the ABS and traction control won't work.

There is no T/C on the car. The rear end I replaced it with has the sensor on each wheel. What I am asking is can I swap the carrier and axels from the posi to the non posi housing? Are they the same size housing? Basically... can I make a 99 coupe non posi rear end using a 02 SS posi rear end guts only.
