Default No traction in rain... WTF!

Ok, I can't figure it out. When it's raining moderately hard when I barely give it gas, it just spins all over the place.. I was in my neighborhood and turned right and barely gave it gas and I had to counter steer, just to not spin out.

Is it my tires..? I have Michelin pilot sports.. Any help is appreciated... Thanks

Are you new to Camaros? I have owned Camaros for the last 30 year. Every generation and I have never had one that did well in the rain. I have had two in rain spinouts. One cost me like $1200 in parts to fix.

Of course better tires will make it better but nothing will make it good in the rain.

tooooo mmmuuuuuuuuch TORQUE!!!! even my 3.8 was dangerous in the rain. After i got pirelli 255/45/16 it was noticeably better but still dangerous in the rain. The first ranfalls are always the worse because of all the oil and unwashed stuff on the road.

LOL I have some Z rated performance tires on my 3.8 and it sux in the rain, I have not tried snow yet but I am not looking forward to it. My wife's Z has all weather tires on it and her car is planted. I can out handle her in the sun but she gets me easy in the rain. Try the tires.

depends on driving a sharp prod to the throttle, even its its only half way will break it loose, or dropping the clutch too early on a manual. Seriously it should not kick out the rear though, and mitchlen sports are suppose to be pretty good. Does it rain often and are roads greasy? UK rains too much but most of time roads are not too greasy after a day or 2 of rain and my maro does fine until you give it gas

Ae the tires low to the marker and all installed correctly is directional/rotational or asymetric? I once say a dude with rotationals fitted backwards, boy was that spraying up some water, the car much have been like it was floating

gee

you just described my Mustang and Camaro as well as other high powered rear wheel drive vehicles i have owned.

New technologies like traction control have protected drivers from themselves but i disable that feature on my newer cars. I prefer to drive the car myself.

Definitely the tires. The Camaro will never handle as well in the rain as a Focus or other small car. Way too much power in a light chassis. But, a good set of tires will help immensely.
