No ABS Light
When first starting the car, all of the normal dash lights do light up and then go out except the ABS light, it never comes on. Is the ABS light suppose to light up during the testing during startup? The ABS light is not in the same cluster as the other dash lights. 1994 Camaro.
Does the car have ABS? If it does ABS, the light may have burned out, or somebody killed it because they couldn't, or didn't want to fix the ABS trouble. The ABS lite is usually the last one to go out after the engine is started.
First make sure there is ABS equipment under the hood. Usually, they put black tape over the bulb so you don't see it, or if the ABS is working OK, the bulb probably burned out. Power for the bulb comes from fuse #9 (gages). The ABS control unit (EBCM)puts a ground on the other side of the bulb to make it light. Beside the fuse for the light, there are 3 other fuses involved. All in the Instrument Panel fuse block. ABS BAT (Fuse 1), ABS IGN (Fuse 5), Fusible Link "B", 2 large RED wires coming from the battery and going to C1 of the ABS enable relay. Any serious testing requires the use of an ABS scan tool or the TECH 1 or TECH 2 GM scanner.
The ABS equipment is there under the hood. Fuse 1 & 5 are good, I replaced both of them. I'm not sure where this is: Fusible Link "B", 2 large RED wires coming from the battery and going to C1 of the ABS enable relay.
