Ngk
Plugs are plugs and oil is oil. Don't fall for the marketing crap, it either works or it doesn't regardless of motor. Commentary on what plugs and oil are best is about as credible as a butt dyno.
i have to disagree. experiance with my personal stuff and friends have run there is a difference in plugs. A buddy has a 53 chevy with a 327 (that my grandpa did the rebuilt and put in ac's) when he changed plugs he went to accels and it ran like crap. same thing with champions. have had nothing but bad luck with those stupid things.
i can agree with oil. i was raised on using valveoline so i do that. or if a car i buy has had nothing but penzoil i continue to use it. i never change the brand thats been in the car its whole life. but it i dont know it gets valvoline unless something special is needed.

i like to stick with copper plugs and ac delco is oem so thats what i get as for oil i agree that oil is oil but i usually go with Valvoline mainly because thats always what on sale when its oil changing time
I'm not saying throw whatever crap you have lying around at your engine, I just find it funny that people buy premium plugs and oil in the name of "horsepower" and "throttle response." Just change plugs and oil during healthy intervals and you won't have any problems. As long as you buy plugs that aren't from the Walmart gardening center, make sure they're from a respected brand or material, and gap them correctly, your engine should run just fine. Platinum plugs seem to have a great lifespan for the price. As for oil, any name brand API certified oil will do just fine. There's no need to fill your crankcase with $60 worth of Royal Purple or whatever overhyped stuff is out there... and avoid additives.
Yeah, I will usually run what the manufacturer specifies, especially since my motor is completely stock. I'll run AC Delco & Valvoline max life in my 2004 Silverado and my '96 RS. The only plugs I'd ever consider running in my vehicles is E3. They've proven them self's time and time again to at least give you SOMETHING in hp/tq. It may not be much, but if you can buy an extra 2hp, why not?
i have tried ac delco, champions, bosh and ngk. ngk are the only ones that will not foul in a short time. i am currently testing some new type of bosh iridiums but have not been drivin the car. if you like changing plugs in your 4th gen then dont get the ngk iridiums.
you will get several different opinions. i like the iridium ngk TR5IX 7164, the new bosch 9655 iridium is impressing me but i need to do some more miles on them and that aint happening this winter. i think your talking about the bosch +2 and +4 and i have used them with a high output coil and the +4 seemed to work ok but the 2's didnt last long.

ICM and coils can do that; look for green gunk out of ICM at harness conector
