Next project to my 93 Z28
Hi guys im new to the forums. this is a great thing for any car guy. i basically hit a stall point in the car as of now, i have my 93 z28 i have dont the following performance mods to it: Msd 6al box msd 8.5 wires, iriduim fusion plugs and msd coil. stage 3 underdrive system. stage 3 chip as it is a piggy back chip in this year only. pacesetter cermic headers with the enlarged cermic Y-pipe and my own test pipe i made with band clamps i can put back in with a hi-flow cat for emission testing ( if anyone needs help with this set up let me know glad to help) back to a flowmaster cat back with stainless lt1 tips. K&N cold air intake and tps insert for the throttle body to help with flow i guess. and a throttle body by-pass for the coolant. and set up the governer in the tranny with better weights set up by the dealer i worked at. my only drawback is i wana be able to cruise down the highway at around 70ish no problem. Can anyone help me?
Sorry the question was, what would be the next thing to do to make it faster in 1/4 mile with out suffering the highway driveability. i ran the car one at the track i pulled a 14 flat but broke the tranny mount on the launch so i had a bad 60 foot time so i am hopinf for mid 13's. my buddy has a 01 ss camaro with exhaust and intake and i barely beat him. i wana be able to beat him no problem with out pulling the motor and stroking it. so again would it be a cam and port the heads and intake? or.... im trying to find out what works on these cars the best for the money. again thanxs for all replys.
Wouldnt it just be cheaper to find a later model LS1 that already runs 13s? Like a WS6 or something. You factor in all the parts and unless you install your own stuff it will get costly... i can find 98-02 T/as between 10-15000 with like 70,000-90,000 miles.
i totally agree with that i live in the boston area and if any of you guys do you know most of the t/a's and camaro's are beat from teen's not maintaing them. i install all my parts my self i am a great mechanic especaily when it comes to my f-body the only thing i havnt done is pull the enitre motor out of it. my car already will run in the mid 13's as long as my tranny mount holds up. light to light i take my buddys 01 ss both are auto cars stock gears. hes got exhaust and intake. but i love my lt1 motor more then the ls1. all those parts are on my car now and my car was owned by and older guy never seen rain let alone snow and its all highway miles. the car is show room condtion. im just looking for sumthin new to do thats worth the money. wether it be 3.73 versus me 3.23 or porting or........ just some idea's guy would be greatly apprecaited.
