you have a bit of an attitude and you need to check it at the door if you're going to ask questions. an off road y-pipe means its not emissions legal meaning it doesn't come with cats. if you have emissions checks in your area, you can have cats welded into an offroad y. there, how's that for knowledgeable? i'm officially done answering any questions for you

To answer the question, an "off road Y pipe" is one that doesn't conform to emissions regulations, either by not having A.I.R. provisions, and/or it also eliminates the catalytic converter. Any time you see add-on parts for a car that say they are for "off road" use only, it's either for emissions reasons or safety reasons. So,you aren't "supposed" to use that Y pipe on the street because you may have problems passing an emissions test, or it could be illegal to remove the part it replaces for street driving.
