Been driving on $hxx tires for 6000 miles (following the engine overhaul) and got tired of it. The big bubble on one of the rear tires was the end.

Priced Cooper Cobras and would have needed only 3 of those to make a set but at $160 each, well, no thanks.

I searched tirerack but ended up at discounttiredirect earlier in the week and saw the Falken Ziex 512s @ $108 each shipped. Sold!!!

They arrived this AM and I mounted and balanced then this afternoon. OMG it's a different car! Smooth and quiet is what i was looking for and it's what I got. Reviews were spotty (aren't they all) but I'd rather have a smooth, quiet tire that lasts 25k miles than a noisy one that lasts 50k miles. I've retired more tires due to dry rot and sidewall cracking than I have from being bald.

We'll see...

They're V-rated so that's a plus.

I put them on my borther's Nissan Altima a few years ago and they seemed good so I thought I'd try a set.

I took a 120 mile trip this weekend and it was raining the whole trip. Hasn't rained for weeks and weeks. Figures.

I really like the way the tires performed and hope it stays that way.

 

In 1998, the camaros came factory with Goodyear Eagle GS's. is there anyway to get these again??
