408!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!FTMFW!!!!

i have a 383 in my 68, exact same us u r looking at doing, and if i had to do it over ide go with a 408. and the block u have is rated at 450, not to say w/ some work it cant handle 500 but u just need to know that. cuz i have the same problem...i want new heads and cam for mine but itd put it over 500hp...which=BOOM. if u want a truly reliable block go with a splayed 4 bolt main. like this one \/

you cant really get 408 out of a regular lt1, unless you do sleeve the cylinder

u can with a rocket block if i remeber right, read the specs, it can be bored and srtoked pretty damned far. and take pretty ****** massive cams too.

what ebay motor ? i dont know what they called it but its a special lt1 block that you get 400 plus out of

yeah it is...well that is what i kno. there are still alot of options out there for lt1's. i just ebay'd lt1 383 and there are a decent amount of motors out there.
