Default New to the camaro craze

Hey everyone. Just got my first camaro. Always been a chevy fan just more into the older trucks for a while. I got out of the carburated days and into fuel injection. I picked up a 1994 Z-28 with the 6 speed. I like it so far. It's got a clutch chatter when it's in neutral and the pedal isn't pressed and i was wondering if it can be adjusted or is it something i need to be thinking about replacing? I'm sure i'll have plenty of Qs in the future. Thanks

You talking about the pedal vibrating pretty good? Sounds like the throwout bearing is degraded.

Pedal doesn't really vibrate. It sounded like a low end engine knock at firstbut it goes away when i depress the clutch pedal.

How many miles does the car have? Was the clutch replaced by any of the previous owners?

Original clutch 130000 miles. I'm pretty sure that's the first thing i'll be replacing.

Sounds like a good idea. That would be my only suggestion for solving your problem. Others may have more/better input.

My only input, hope that it's your clutch and not the input shaft for the transmission. When you're driving do you get the same chatter for an instant(technically when the engine and transmission speed are the same)? It should happen once per gear.

I haven't noticed anything. Would it be pretty noticable? The exhaust tone is pretty low so if it is, i'm not hearing it. How much would that cost or what am i looking at for damage if it's the input shaft? Also the cooling fans on these things don't come on until the water temp climbs up there quite a ways. Had me a little worried. I tested the relays and fans last night (good). Wasn't able to test the coolant temp sensor though. They come on when the a/c is on and they come on when i try and read the codes via the OBD. Just seems kinda warm before they kick in. You guys have any suggestions for a decent clutch? Not looking to race everyday but i like playing ocassionally. Thanks

If it was the input shaft you'd have to pay attention through the gears to see if it does it, but you should be able to feel it in the shifter if it is. That would probably be a pretty costly repair, but you may want to check it out if you're replacing the clutch just to make sure. As for the fans, GM has a tendency to set their fan temp pretty high, I wouldn't worry about it.

The shifter **** does vibrate a bit at around 70mph and above.
