Default need more power!!

hey there, Im new to this forum as a member, but have used you guys for great advice plenty of times. I have a 96 z28 and am looking for more power. I already have the flowmaster 40-series, and a k&n cold air induction, as well as this new stage 2 gorilla chip that plugs into the ait sensor seems to give me a little more HP, but im looking to take this a couple of steps furthur. where would you go from there??? if you where upgrading and not trying to spend a fortune yet??? any suggestions would be great!!!! someone told me bigger throttle body???

In My Opinion Your Next Step Would Be A Cam. Cam Talk Can Be Scary For Some But, You Don't Have To Go Overboard In Cash To Get A Reasonable Amount Of Horsepower. It's Not That Difficult To Install A Cam Either. Ofcourse Your Horsepower Will Be Limited By The Volume Of Air And Fuel You Will Be Able To Supply It With But, You Can Get A Bigger Throttle Body On Your Next Upgrade. Sick

hey sick, yikes!!! a cam!!! [&:] i dont doubt your expertise but about how much $$$ would it run? what brand to buy. and how hard is it to install. I am limited in my camaro engine experience but know that its a dam nightmare to move around in there. I ended up nearly killing myself trying to get the cold air intake in there[>:]. lol but I love my car and am willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done. so Ill probably be bothering you a little here and there. by the way nice motor pic. is that in the IROC??

I would wait on the cam and do all the bolt ons first. Things like long tube headers (a real pain to install on a LT1), gears, underdrive pulley, am stall if it's an auto. These things are not super cheap but willmake the car a lot faster and will work nicly down the road when get a cam.

I meant to say "a stall" and mistyped the m sorry. Yes you can put in a cam without taking out the engine. I still do not reccomend you do a cam at this point. After a cam you will need a full dyno tune to make the car run right, so you might as well do the bolt ons that do not reqiure a full tune and then when you get the cam go for the tune.

IMO the LT1 is not the best engine to supercharge with stock internals, due to the high compression ratio. With the money for a supercharger kit you can build a 383 stroker, and have a more reliable engine making about the same power. Also the engine compartment does not get cluttered up with belts and pulleys.
