If your motor is dead, you might as well replace the regulator too. It will save you the time and effort of taking the motor off the regulator. No matter what you do, you have to take both the regulator and motor out of the door panel.

Its alot easier just to replace the window motor than to pull the regulator out, and no, you dont have to remove the regulator to change a motor. There will be four small rivets holding the old motor in, and you will actually have to drill one new hole through the fiber glass inside the door.
