Default Need help with my 3.4l v6 manual Camaro overheating

Hello,
I bought my first Camaro three days ago and I've run into some major issues with it overheating. My car is a 1994 3.4L v6 manual. I drove it home the other day after buying it and had no issues at all. The next day I got up and decided to show her off around town and after 20 mins of driving, the car overheated really bad. There was water spitting everywhere but there was no smoke. We than replaced the serptine belt(im prolly spelling that wrong), temp gauge, and the water pump. We than fired her up and it was still overheating bad and was tacking the gauge out. We let the car set overnight and tried driving it a few hours ago. Now the temp in the car wont reach 180 while driving and my friend is freaking out thinking theres something really major wrong with the car since it now stays too cool in his opinion.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what we can look at/fix? Also do you think its safe to drive around town now?
I would greatly appericate any suggestions and its nice to meet everyone on the forums.

p.s. This is my favorite car i've ever owned and wish I would of gotten one years ago.
