is there enough room in the engine compartment of a forth gen. for a v8 carb. motor including the air filter it looks like the motor sits back a little more then what a third gen. does?

 

yeah you are correct,both the ls1 and lt1 does sit farther back.You will need to use a cowl hood and cut the cowl by the window for it to clear correctly,or you can take the cowl panel itself off and have a custom one made,which i have seen done
