Need help with 1998 z28 camaro
Ok so here is the deal. This is a bit of a tricky question for someone who has done hands on work with 4th gen camaros. I have a 1998 z28 camaro with an automatic trans. I bought it cheap because it was crab walking and the guy couldn't fix it. So i put it on a frame machine and straightened it and replace the trailing arm bars and the pan hard bar. Then i replaced the entire rear axel. I used the axel out of a 2000 camaro that had 40k miles on it. The problem is there was only one electric sender going to the rear tire and on the new rear there were two of them. So i hooked up one of them, one going to each tire and my speedometer works but it throws the abs inop light and the brake light now. Anyone know how to fix this?
the car has a four sensor traction control and the rearend came from a car that has a 3 sensor non traction control system. not real sure on the newer cars, does it look like u can transfer the sensors from the old unit and then plug the center hole?
it because the detecting ring is different with your cars axle and the one with traction control. All you could do it try and fit the stuff from your axle back on this one. You'll have to swap diff units back so you have the re-circulating ring in the diff housing and the sensor on top.
But first check the wiring that you have done to the sensor. Have you done it the right way? and not reversed the wires (are they coloured?? ) I know on my axle i messed up a senors on one side so I soldered the wires all to one side and its fine, but i matched colours

Well that sounds like a rather good idea! I think im gona get under there this weekend and see if i can switch the carrier unit from the old one to the new one. All i need to see is if it has the hookup to match. Also we did hook up all the wires correctly color coded and all. I do understand why you would mention that though! haha
If anyone else has good ideas to fix the problem i am still open to suggestions!
